A nascent entertainment medium (aside from online gaming, which has been around for a while), web entertainment includes user-generated video like YouTube and Facebook Apps. YouTube is the standard-bearer in Web entertainment - videos of laughing babies, geeks dancing at their computer and playing with imaginary light sabers, and crying defenders of Britney Spears have all earned their 15 minutes of fame. Discuss your favorite (and most detested) web phenomena here, and remember, Chris Crocker and the Numa Numa guy would be nobodies if it weren't for this new form of media.

In many online games nowadays the trend is to have unlockable items, weapons or other equipment which are not immediately accessible to the player. These "unlocks" can only be accessed once the player completes a certain task or milestone, say winning a certain number of games or defeating a number of opponents in a specific way. These milestones are usually called achievements.

The notion of achievements is highly debated within the gaming community, with "achievement farmers" (those who use dedicated servers to focus upon completeing achievements instead of actual play) frowned upon by most members. Some unlocks, like the notorious Team Fortress 2 Medic Pack, are considered too hard, and some too easy. The balance is hard to get right, and the existence of unlocks is a source of much acrimony between both pro and casual gamers alike.
